With over 1300 job vacancies, internship at IIT-Delhi breaks all records

The latest placement season at IIT-Delhi in the 2021-22 academic year broke all previous records as over 1,300 job vacancies were posted from over 600 companies. Graduating students held over 1,000 jobs, while undergraduates received over 830 internship offers from over 200 companies.

“This is the highest number of offers ever received by students through the Institute’s Office of Career Services (OCS) for Placement and Internship,” Professor Rangan Banerjee said on Friday. Director of IIT-Delhi at IANS.

A face-to-face process for the 2022-23 academic year placement season will begin on December 1, 2022. IIT-Delhi is expecting a robust hiring season.

In order to help students prepare for the next internship season, the Institute’s Alumni Relations Department will organize “Mock Interviews” sessions for them. This is a successful initiative that resulted in over 400 mock interviews over the past placement season. As part of the initiative, the esteemed alumni community of IIT-Delhi is conducting mock interviews with the students, Prof. Banerjee added.

Meanwhile, IIT-Delhi will hold its 53rd Annual Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, November 5. As many as 2,100 graduate students would receive diplomas and diplomas at the ceremony.

The Director of IIT said Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation (DRIIV), an initiative of the Office of Chief Scientific Adviser, Government of India, has partnered with IIT-Delhi’s Arun Duggal Center of Excellence for Research on Climate Change and Air Pollution (CERCA) to conduct Technology Pilot – SAMEER Project i.e. Solutions for Air Pollution Mitigation through Engagement, Engineering and Research in Delhi- NCR from November 2022 to February 2023.

As part of this pilot project, community awareness and engagement will be ensured. Doctors and health practitioners will engage with communities such as farmers, school and college students, RWAs, urban slums, etc. to make them aware of the harmful effects of air pollution on health. The science and technology interventions will monitor and reduce PM 2.5 and PM 10 levels. These solutions will be rolled out in the high AQI areas of Delhi and Gurugram as a pilot project to assess their effectiveness, Prof Banerjee added.
