NORTHAMPTON, MA/ACCESSWIRE/October 28, 2022/ QVC® The UK, a world leader in video commerce, has been named a finalist in two categories at the world’s first Menopause Friendly Employer Awards. Organized by Menopause Friendly and supported by CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), the awards celebrate employers who have gone above and beyond in their quest to be “menopause friendly”. The first Menopause Friendly Employer Awards attracted more than 85 nominations in 10 categories. QVC UK has been named a finalist in the Best Engagement Campaign category for celebrating World Menopause Day in October 2021, led by QVC UK’s Gender Equality TMRG (Team Member Resource Group). Additionally, QVC UK team member Tracey Cuckson was named a finalist in the Community Awards category for her passionate work to help break the taboo around menopause as part of her work with the same TMRG.
While QVC believes the experience of menopause should be a unifying and supportive experience for women, it is sadly under-discussed and under-represented in everyday life. Atomic research1 found that more than one in five women feel they have no one to talk to about menopause, and only 9% of the more than 2,000 women surveyed feel prepared for this life-changing event. Moreover, a third of the women surveyed had never even discussed menopause with another relative. These startling statistics show a real need to change the narrative, and why QVC UK has launched the Menopause Your Way campaign featuring inspiring women from all walks of life as they share their own journeys around menopause. As part of the new campaign, QVC UK fosters a sense of community by directly involving customers in weekly live broadcasts, answering questions from industry experts on Facebook and Instagram, and hearing about groundbreaking product picks viewers.
