Quebec invites 33 Canadian immigration candidates with job offers in new Arrima draw

Quebec immigration made a new draw through the Arrima Expression of interest system, sending invitations to 33 candidates for immigration to Canada.

The April 7 draw targeted candidates with a job offer from an employer outside the Montreal metropolitan area. It did not require a minimum score in the Quebec Expression of Interest Points System.

Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

How does the declaration of interest work in Quebec?

  1. Applicants submit an expression of interest profile online through Arrima.
  2. Profiles enter an expression of interest pool, where they are ranked against each other using a point system and are valid for 12 months.
  3. Top-ranked candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through periodic draws.
  4. Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application.
  5. Approved candidates who receive a Certificate of Nomination (CSQ) can then apply to the federal government for permanent residence in Canada.

Quebec Expression of Interest Points System

the Quebec Expression of Interest the point system is used to rank profiles submitted via Arrima to the expression of interest bank, with the highest ranked profiles being invited to apply Quebec immigration under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

Candidates and their spouse or common-law partner can obtain up to 1,320 points based on human capital and Quebec labor market factors.

The Quebec expression of interest points system includes points in two categories, some of which include points for the spouse or common-law partner of the principal applicant.

  • Human capital factors:
    • Mastery of the French language.
    • French and English combined.
    • Age.
    • Professional experience.

  • Quebec labor market factors:
    • Work experience in an area with a labor shortage.
    • Qualifications in one of the fields of training in Quebec.
    • Quebec education level.
    • Professional experience in Quebec.
    • Work experience in the rest of Canada.
    • Job offer inside or outside Greater Montreal.
