With a new local survey revealing that nearly 70% of Atlanta job seekers aren’t applying for their dream job, the tour seeks to shine a light on meaningful career opportunities for those who need them most. and who want it the most.

Atlanta job seekers need help

The survey, conducted in October 2022 among 1,006 Atlanta job seekers, revealed several reasons why these people might not pursue new opportunities, including being intimidated by job search (27%), not having a college degree (20%) , not knowing how to start a job search (21%), and a general lack of confidence (26%).

Additional survey results also revealed the motivation of people looking for a new job. Those who rose to the top include better pay (53%), creating a better life for themselves (51%) and creating a better life for their family or those who depend on them ( 41%).

Mobile Career Center: hit the road

Of Atlanta at Boston and denver at Oaklandthe Be The Light tour will visit a dozen cities over the next year and will include the following:

  • Individual consultations with experts from Insight Global who will provide a personalized experience based on participants’ career goals.
  • Career preparation workshops CV writing, interview techniques and job search.
  • shooting studio with a stylist and a professional photographer who will take photos and upload photos to LinkedIn profiles (and create a profile).
  • Professional networking with Insight Global recruiters and client partners who will be on hand to offer advice, tips and best practices to job seekers and share opportunities that may be available.
  • Child care services supervised by qualified early childhood professionals.
  • Additional support services, including assistance for Spanish speakers, the hearing impaired and the physically disabled.
  • Food for fuel with complimentary locally sourced culinary options.
  • Payment for the goods where participants who complete the day will earn free swag.

The Be The Light Tour is open to anyone looking to improve their work or career. In particular, AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander), BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color), first generation college graduates, homeless people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA, impacted justice, single income families, veterans, women and young adults. Across the country, many communities face challenges when it comes to entering the workforce or improving their careers, from social and economic inequality to disenfranchisement. Survey methodology

Insight Global commissioned Atomik Research to conduct an online survey of 1,006 adults across the Atlanta Region. Survey participants are full-time employees, part-time employees, retirees, self-employed, students and unemployed people looking for a new job.

The margin of error was less than +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% confidence interval. Fieldwork for the online survey has taken place between October 13 and October 17 of 2022. Atomik Research is an independent and creative market research agency.
