Jadavpur University student receives three job offers; chooses Facebook over Google, Amazon

An engineering student from Jadavpur University (JU) in Kolkata has successfully landed a job offer at Facebook. The company has offered an annual salary package of Rs. 1.8 crore. The amount is the highest package this year offered to any JU student.

The graduating computer science student also received job offers from Google and Amazon, but eventually accepted the one from Facebook due to a higher salary package.

Bisakh received the results of his recruitment interview on Tuesday evening and he will join the company in London this year in September.

During the pandemic, Bisakh used his time to do some internships in several organizations which helped him gain knowledge and experience. Apart from the curriculum, Bisakh also gained practical experience. The experience also helped him succeed in his interviews with high-tech companies.

The technician comes from Birbhum district in Bengal and has a modest family background.

Her mother is a worker from Anganwadi. She expressed her joy and pride and said that Bisakh has always been a deserving student.

She added that it is a proud moment for the whole family. They have worked diligently to bring Bisakh to these heights of success. Furthermore, she said that Bisakh had focused seriously on his academics and was admitted to JU University due to excellent marks in HSC and entrance exam.

Samita Bhattacharya, the University Placement Manager, informed that this is the first time that students have received great international offers after the pandemic.

According to reports, nine university students from different faculties have received international job offers with an annual salary of more than Rs. 1 crore.

As Facebook is one of the most profitable and high-tech companies in the world, it is difficult to get a job in the company. But when recruiting expertise and talent, Facebook chooses skills over experience. Apart from work, the company offers various options such as learning, earning and growing its employees.
