NEW DELHI, February 22: Warning the public against fraudulent job offers, the Income Tax Department said on Tuesday that aspirants should only consider offers or advertisements on official SSC websites or department.
“The Department of Income Tax is warning the public not to fall prey to fraudulent individuals misleading job applicants by issuing false letters of appointment to join the department,” the IT department tweeted.
In a public notice, the direct tax apex body said it had become aware that some fraudulent people were misleading applicants by issuing fake appointment letters to join the IT department.
He said direct recruitment for all Group B and C positions is done by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and notifications/results are made available on the SSC website.
Subsequently, the regional assignment of the candidate is made and the list is uploaded to the IT department portal.
“The general public is hereby cautioned/advised to take notice of such fake advertisements/notifications/appointment letters advertised/distributed through any other platform/portal other than the official websites of SSC and Department of income tax,” he said in public. note. (PTI)
